The kits come with enough precut tint for all the lights on your Mustang. You can install it yourself with out any experience, but it will take a few hours. The best part is, you can get it for $50, which is way cheaper them most Mustang mods, and it will make you car much more serious.

I’ve tinted the lights on both of the Mustangs I’ve owned. I debated it a bit before on both cars, but was really happy with the results afterwards. It looks great on both darker Mustangs and lighter Mustangs.

Installation

Putting the light tint on isn’t to bad as long as you take your time. Instructions come with it but here is a quick step by step. All you will need is a hairdryer or heat gun, some microfiber cloths, a spray bottle filled with a mixture of soap and water, and a squeegee. The best thing to do is start with the smaller lights and work your way up to the bigger ones.

  • First you’ll want to wash off the lights as best you can.
  • Then spray a bit of the soap and water mixture on your hands, to keep them a little damp. You may want to do this a few times throughout the process to avoid leaving smudges.
  • Then peel the tint off the backing and spray it with a light mist. After that, place it on the light, lining it up as best you can. Take the squeegee and put a microfiber towel over it so it doesn’t scratch the tint. Use that squeegee while applying the tint to the light to get as many air bubbles out as possible.
  • Then use the hairdryer to stretch the tint as needed to get it to cover the entire light. There is a very good chance that you will need to stretch the tint a little to get it to fit on just right.
  • If there are still air bubbles, you can very carefully puncture them and flatten them out.
  • Once it is on and in place spray it with a light mist and let it sit. The longer it sits, the more clear it will look.
